A+ Question of the Week: DSL Circuit

AplusQOW6Which of the following connectors is most likely to be used in connecting to a DSL circuit?

A. ST
B. BNC
C. RJ-45
D. RJ-11

The correct answer is D.

The RJ-11 connector is used to attach a DSL modem to a DSL circuit. Although the RJ-45 connector is used more often than not to connect the modem back to the customer equipment, the RJ-11 connector is all but guaranteed to be required to gain access to the DSL service, which has an interface identical to that of analog landlines.
