CompTIA Launches New A+ Exams

CompTIA announced that it will launch two new A+ Certification exams, CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-801) and CompTIA A+ Practical Application (220-802), on October 9th, 2012. The current A+ certification exams, 220-701 and 220-702, will not retire until August 2013.

Exam Details

The A+ certification requires both the 220-801 and the 220-802 exams with each exam containing 100 questions. Candidates are given 90 minutes to take each exam. Twelve months of hands-on lab or field experience is recommended for candidates interested in an A+ certification. Exam 220-801 requires a passing score of 675 or above and exam 220-802 requires a 700 or above on a scale of 100-900.

Exam Objectives

Exams 220-801 and 220-802 cover varying domains, and technologies, processes, or tasks pertaining to each objective may also be included on the exams.
