After celebrating their $1 billion dollar revenue accomplishment, what’s next for the Linux stalwart out in North Carolina? Let’s just say that Red Hat is not resting on its laurels. First, Red Hat has just started moving into its new headquarters in downtown Raleigh, NC. Then, on the technology front, Red Hat just announced the release of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 and, as expected, changes in the education and training behind the technology. Updated to take advantage of Java EE 6, new JBoss training has already rolled out for the core application administrator and application developer courses. Expect more to come as they update the rest of the technologies around the new JBoss EAP 6 application platform.
And finally, have you heard of Red Hat’s individual exam sessions (IES)? Everyone knows how valuable it is to have a Red Hat certification whether you’re talking about the RHCE or RHCSA. But it can be tough to schedule an exam slot or get to a testing center near you. So what to do? Red Hat is now rolling out their IES or Individual Exam Sessions. IES is basically a mobile and remotely monitored exam station that can be deployed in areas where testing is normally not available, and on a much more flexible schedule for your convenience. These Red Hat individual exam sessions are now available in Atlanta, Washington, DC, New York, and San Jose with more to follow.
So yes, sometimes when you get older and more successful things can get a bit stale, but not for Red Hat. Congratulations on a great 2012 Red Hat!
